Mother nature puts away the paints and gets out the pen and pencils

Now that the colorful leaves have fallen and the green is gone from the grasses, nature has gotten back to the basics of design - line, texture, and form and her colors have become wonderfully subtle. It is like she decided to put away the paints and get out the inks and pencils for a while. I love this time of year and find it every bit as beautiful as the lushness of summer. So today I took my trusty point-and-shoot and headed out to our yard and beyond to record some of these newly seeable forms. they are stitches, they are lines, they are tactile. They are inspiring!
